memo DATE: March 9, 2016 TO: WIC Coordinators & CPAs FROM: Rick Chiat, Food Delivery Unit SUBJECT: Gerber 2-Packs of 4 ounce Plastic Containers This is a reminder that a Gerber 2-pack of 4 ounce containers counts as 2 jars of baby fruits and vegetables. Stores have reported that some participants think a 2-pack is equal to one jar. As you know, vouchers list the amount of baby fruits and vegetables allowed as a number of 4 ounce jars. There is not enough space on the voucher line to change this description to include information on the Gerber 2-packs along with the individual 4 ounce size jars still made by Beech Nut and the other brands listed on our WIC allowed food list. We would appreciate it if you could share this information with the families receiving infant foods to help ensure they obtain the correct amounts. One Gerber 2-pack of 4 oz. containers is equal to two individual jars of baby food. If you have any questions about the infant foods, please contact Karilyn Schrankler at [email protected]
