TIPS, GUIDANCE & BEST PRACTICES
Risk Factor 425X Should Never Be Assigned at Cert/Recert
Risk Factor 425X should never be assigned at a cert/recert since it is a risk factor that was created by the State
Office to allow HuBERT users to use the default food package functionality for children turning two years old
when they don’t have a current valid risk factor that overlaps the 1-2 and 2-3 age categories.
For example, a child certified at 18 months may have only been assigned Risk Factor 428 – Dietary Risk
Associated with Complementary Feeding Practices, which is applicable through 23 months of age. At the time
of the cert, the system could not auto-generate the two-year default food package because there wasn’t an
applicable risk factor for the 2-3 age category.
Once the child turns two, you will need to generate an approriate food package in order to issue benefits. If
you try to do so, the system will generate an error indicating the child doesn’t have a valid risk factor. In this
instance, you would assign Risk Factor 425X so that you can create a default food package.
The Help Desk Is Your First Call for Assistance with HuBERT
This is a reminder that the MN Help Desk should always be your first point of contact for any questions or
assistance you may need with HuBERT. In most cases, they are immediately available and can provide much
more direct assitance than the State Office. You can contact them either by phone at 1-800-488-8799 or email
at [email protected].

has three tabs. Tab 1 – Reference is a reference report
that can be used to obtain the value IDs necessary to
identify participants who are participating in the One
Call automated messaging project. It also has a list of
Appointment Type IDs and their descriptions, which
can be used to help agencies and One Call specify the
type of appointments that require contact. Tab 2 Participants provides a list of participants that missed a
scheduled appointment during a specified time period
in the past and do not have a future appointment
scheduled (no appointment scheduled after the
current date) and who want to be notified by One Call
for missed appointments via voice messages, texts, or
emails. Tab 3 – Households provides the same list as
Tab 2 – Participants but removes all individual
information (such as appointment date, time, type,
State WIC ID and first name). Only information that
pertains to the entire household is provided. This is for
agencies that prefer to send one message for the
entire household.
