Science Grading Policy

GRADING AND REPORTING
Grades will reflect what a student knows and is able to do in relation to the MCPS
curriculum.
■
Subject teams/departments determine which assignments are to be reassessed.
■
Students will be awarded the grade earned on that reassessment.
■
Wootton’s primary focus with reassessment will be on those students who do not meet
departmental standards.
■
Reassessments are given within 3-5 days upon return of the original assignment.
■
Reassessments may be in the original format or an alternative format.
■
Teachers will assign a lowest grade of 50% to assignments that meet minimum
standards.
Assessments not attempted or not submitted by the deadline will receive a “0”. Work
that is plagiarized will also earn a “0”.
Homework checked for completion will account up to 10% of the marking period grade.
Grading scales will coincide with that of MCPS:
