Agenda Item AUC ELIGIBILITY TAG Meeting Minutes – February 24, 2016 Discussion 1. Meeting to order – Theresa Noponen Theresa convened meeting. 2. Anti-trust statement: http://www.health.state.mn.us/auc/pdfs/antitrust.pdf Theresa reminded TAG members to comply with the AUC antitrust statement and that it is available for review on the AUC website there are any questions. 3. Introductions - Please e-mail your attendance to [email protected] 4. Minutes for October 2015 and January 2016 Approved via email vote 5. Limited exception for non-HIPAA payers complying with MN 270/271 transaction requirements Theresa received the following information “Actually, until the new X12 TR3 accounts for the P&C technical and business needs, it really would not be useful to exchange it for P&C. They were working on a new special purpose TR3 to address that sort of need and possibly allow the P&C claim number to be included but I don’t know if that work has been completed at X12 by the workgroup.” Discussion – even if providers could get a confirmation that there is an injury and a claim is under investigation, that would be helpful. WC should be easier to put 270/271 requirements into place, you are dealing with a single patient, employer, injury date, whereas P&C could include multiple insurances, multiple claimants per claim. If these payor types are required to exchange claims and remittances electronically, some of the infrastructure should already be in place. Try and improve the transaction. Find out what group is working on; can we get meeting minutes for the work/discussion that has been completed. After discussion, the group would like to pursue, separating the transaction between WC and P&C. Dave recommended developing a white paper to submit to X12 for consideration. Theresa will follow up with members to get their input and Page 1 of 2 Agenda Item Discussion track down the minutes as noted from the committee meetings. 6. X12 Update BJ did not attend the January meeting. Aggie and Merri-Lee were not able to join our call today. BJ did give a quick overview of the conference format. If we get our white paper together for the non-HIPAA entities, BJ could present for us in June. 7. 2016 Work Plan Tim Lopez from MN BCBS did a fabulous job walking us through the AAA errors, thank you Tim!! For those of you that missed our meeting or for those that have questions about the AAA errors, Dave Haugen is going to work with Tim to create a webinar type presentation that would be available on the AUC website for viewing. Tim walked through the loops and possible errors that could occur, giving great examples. BJ suggested that we break the AAA errors in to categories; content (72, 76) and other/connectivity errors (42, 80). The errors that are returned are very generic, could we get a bit more specific? 8. Other Business Next Meeting – March 23rd, 2016 Teleconference/WebEx only Page 2 of 2
