ALUMNI PANELISTS
Alicia Hammond is a Gender Specialist with the Gender Cross-Cutting Solutions Area at the World Bank Group.
She works on research, analysis and communications across a range of gender equality issues, including
education, health, and economic opportunities. Alicia also served as a member of the core team that developed
the WBG’s new Gender Equality Strategy and now works on its implementation. In this capacity, she co-led
external consultation processes in 9 countries in 2015. She has recently taken up a new role as a focal point on
sexual orientation and gender identity issues. Prior to joining the WBG, she worked at the Women and Public
Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School where she managed strategic outreach initiatives and translated
qualitative and quantitative research for non-academic audiences. She has also consulted with UNICEF, UN
Foundation, and UN Women on a variety of gender equality topics. Before consulting for international
organizations, Alicia implemented social development, gender equality, and human rights initiatives in her home
country, Jamaica.
While at Fletcher, Alicia had concentrations in Human Security and Development Economics, with a selfdesigned focus on Gender, Human Rights and Development. She wrote her thesis on the rights-based approach
to child marriage intervention strategies. She also co-led the Human Rights Project and
Fletcher’s Amnesty International student group. Alicia holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College with double
majors in International Relations and French. She does not like the movie Cool Runnings.
Shashank Pasrija is Director, Product Management for Planning and Guidance Tools at Fidelity Investments,
where he drives strategy and planning for Fidelity's portfolio of planning tools for retail and workplace
customers. Shashank's previous financial services experience includes a Management Consultant role with
Fidelity's internal strategy consulting group and a Summer Associate position in Liberty Mutual's Corporate
Development Program.
At Fletcher, Shashank focused on international finance and strategy, graduating with an MIB in 2013. Shashank
was active in the International Business Club and developed a start-up business plan that took second place in the
2012 Tufts $100k New Venture competition. He also traveled to Tunisia to conduct market research for the
venture with support from Fletcher's Institute for Business in the International Context.
Shashank holds a BS in Computer Engineering. He arrived at Fletcher with six years of experience in IT
consulting in India and the United States. He lives with his wife, a fellow Fletcher alumna, in the hipster-friendly
neighborhood of Davis Square.
Matt Hoisington currently works in the United Nations, Office of Legal Affairs, Office of the Legal Counsel
where he focuses on peace keeping, security, sanctions, accountability and disarmament. While at Fletcher Matt
participated in the Cyber Policy Working Group, as well as Project Minerva, sponsored by the Department of
Defense, in conjunction with students and professors from MIT and Harvard. Matt had published broadly on
issues of global governance, cyber security, international humanitarian law and global health law. Matt holds a
BA in Psychology and Government from Dartmouth College, a JD from Boston College Law School and an LLM
in International Law from Fletcher.

ALUMNI PANELISTS
John Floretta is Associate Director of Policy for J-PAL. He works with policymakers, affiliated researchers, and
global and regional staff to disseminate lessons from randomized evaluations and promote evidence informed
decision-making and scale-ups of successful social programs.
John was Deputy Director of J-PAL South Asia from 2011-2015, helping to run J-PAL’s largest regional office. His
work in India focused on disseminating policy lessons and scaling up evidence-backed interventions, as well as
building monitoring and evaluation capacity of government and civil society partners, including the
establishment of the South Asia Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results (CLEAR), a World Bankcoordinated initiative.
His career has centered on international development program management and analysis. He worked with the
UNDP and UNWFP in China for five years and led evaluation and organizational learning assignments with
Nike Foundation and Mercy Corps. John speaks Mandarin and has lived and worked in Asia for over 12 years.
He holds a MALD with concentrations in Development Economics and Human Security.
Kathleen Yaworsky is Channels & Technology Lead Specialist at Accion, responsible for research and analysis in
areas including digital financial services, big data applications for financial inclusion, mobile money, agent
networks, and alternative distribution models. She provides additional due diligence and advisory services as
well as business case development to support C&T’s work with financial institution and Fintech clients
globally. Kathleen also leads C&T’s industry engagement, charged with developing its global research and
learning agenda.
Kathleen has over eight years of international and project management experience in Africa, Latin America, and
Eastern Europe, on issues ranging from digital financial services, water and sanitation, to health and gender.
Kathleen completed her MALD in International Business and Human Security. While at Fletcher, she consulted
with MasterCard’s Government Services and Solutions team to conduct market research evaluating the
digitization of cash transfers in the Mexican government’s Oportunidades program. Her capstone expanded on
this research to complete a case study on digitizing G2P social benefit programs.
Previously, Kathleen served as Acting Executive Director at Voss Foundation, a nonprofit focusing on clean water
and sanitation access in sub-Saharan Africa, managing all operations and development activities. Before joining
Voss Foundation as Program Officer, she served for two years in Peace Corps Ukraine, focused on youth training
and NGO capacity building. Kathleen completed her BA in International Relations and Romance Languages at
Bowdoin College. She is currently completing a Certificate in Digital Money at Digital Frontiers Institute through
Fletcher.
