Welcome to the IB European and Middle East History course!
• It is a two-year program and successful completion will be
part of earning an IB diploma.
• Both years are necessary to earn the MCPS Modern World History
credit for graduation.
• Students will
o acquire and understand historical knowledge from
different cultures,
o develop an understanding of history as a discipline,
o gain an international awareness and understanding of
people living in a variety of places,
o understand the present by linking it to past events,
o use and communicate historical knowledge and
understanding, and
o develop an everlasting appreciation for history.
