IB Environmental Systems in Societies, SL

IB Environmental Systems and Societies
Standard Level Interdisciplinary Course in Group 3 or4
Course Description: Through studying IB Environmental Systems and Societies students are
provided with a coherent perspective of the interrelationships between environmental systems
and societies; one that enables them to adopt an informed personal response to the wide
range of pressing environmental issues that they will inevitably come to face.
Students evaluate the scientific, ethical and socio-political aspects of issues. The students
participate in several field trips during the school year with an affiliation with the
Bridging the Watershed Program and the University of Maryland School of Public Health.
