If you are interested in getting deeper into the books you read and
seeing how characters and themes translate to other stories, than IB
English is the perfect course for you!
The two years of IB English will develop your:
• Personal appreciation of language and literature
• Skills in literary criticism
• Appreciation of cultural differences
IB English will be different from other English classes, you can expect;
• Student-driven classes
• 10 novels and plays over two years, with time to delve deeply into
style and context
• Novels originally written in other languages and from other cultures,
including Africa, Asia and Latin America
• A serious study of a poet over an extended period of time, reading
and analyzing 15 poems to gain a sense of the style
