Poolesville High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) Supporting Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships September 3, 2015 A Note from the PHS PTSA President . . . Back-‐to-‐School, hurray! Rare is a day filled with so much promise, momentum, and dare I say, excitement? I’m honored to be your 2015-‐2016 PHS PTSA president to further the goals and accomplishments our organization achieved last year under Lucy Lock’s leadership. This year, the PTSA will continue to energetically and creatively support our students, faculty, and school. One specific goal I’d like to highlight is improving communication across our many student and parent groups. Like all of you, I am usually so busy that I just assume my family, my colleagues, and my friends can read my mind. That piece of news, upcoming event, concern, or compliment—did I actually convey it, or just imagine that I did? It’s hard to shift gears from summer schedules that are slower-‐paced and less structured. But, here we are. Please consider joining the PHS PTSA and sharing your time to serve your students’ community. We meet every third Tuesday of each month (with a few exceptions) at either 7:30 p.m., for an evening meeting in the PHS Media Center, or at 7:30 a.m., in the Media Center for a meeting combined with the President’s Breakfast meeting hosted by PHS Principal Deena Levine. There are few better ways to gain insight about your student’s education than by participating with us in the PHS PTSA. We need your help, ideas, and creativity to bring new ideas to bear and to accomplish the PHS goals typical to each year. Please feel free to contact me or any of our PTSA officers Jane Lehrman, vice president: [email protected]; Lucy Lock, secretary: [email protected]; Kendal Greene, Treasurer: [email protected] Sincerely, Heidi Rosvold-‐Brenholtz [email protected]
