Baskets of Care Update Webinar
Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 * Noon – 1:00 p.m.
The concept of Baskets of Care that was included in the 2008 health reform law (MN
Statutes 2008 62U.05) seeks to bundle payments for a set of health care services together
in ways that will create incentives for health care providers to cooperate and develop
innovative ways to deliver effective, high-quality and lower cost health care services.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and its contractor for the baskets of care
project, the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI), have facilitated a
community-driven development process for the baskets of care. Since January 2009,
much work has been done to define the baskets of care, determine how to measure their
outcomes, and identify and propose solutions to operational and administrative
challenges to implementing the baskets of care.
ICSI is holding this Webinar to bring medical groups, hospitals, health plans and
employers up to date on the current status of the initiative.
The Webinar will address such topics as:
• Basket of Care Concept
• Criteria for Defined Baskets
• Operational and Administrative Issues
• Measurement
• Next Steps
