AP Computer Science (CP-2) Summer Work
Introduction
You are getting this letter because you have chosen to continue learning
computer science by taking AP Computer Science (CP-2). You have chosen
well. By taking CP-2, you have the opportunity to earn college credit (saving
you time and money) and continue learning the deep fundamentals of
programming so that you have the skills to create not only computer
programs, but mobile applications and entertainment software that can impact our
world.
To be successful next year you will need to remember everything you did this year
in DTS and reinforce it during the summer. The work described below will help you.
This is mandatory for success in CP2.
Course Overview
This course is intended to serve both as an introductory course for students wanting
to major in Information Technology as well as people who will major in other
disciplines that require involvement with technology.
Summer Assignment
1. Create an account at CodingBat.com
2. Go to the Prefs page, and type in your name (last, first).
3. Type in Mr. Price’s school email in the Share To section:
[email protected] This will allow me to observe your progress.
4. Complete all of the questions in the Warmup-1 and Warmup-2 sections. I know
that the return statement is new to you. Whenever you are stuck, use the Show
Solution button or view the answers at:
http://codingbatanswers.wordpress.com/ to help you understand where you went
wrong.
5. I fully expect you to try many times before you resort to looking at the answer.
You will not be successful in CP-2 if you fail to approach your learning with
integrity. I’d rather you come to me with questions and incomplete work, than
just copying your answers from the website.
6. You will have a quiz on this material the first week of school when you come
back.
7. Have your parent(s)/guardian(s) sign off at the bottom to prove that you
completed the assignment.
