ADVISEMENT CENTER A-100 LEARNING SUPPORT TESTING REQUIREMENTS IN A NUTSHELL All students will undergo initial assessment. Students who have not met the criteria below are required to undergo secondary diagnostic assessment to determine appropriate learning support requirements. If minimum college-level criteria are not met, students must undergo secondary diagnostic testing to determine learning support requirements. New degree-seeking students over the age of 21 without valid (less than 3 years old) ACT or SAT scores must undergo COMPASS testing as a basis for initial assessment. If COMPASS scores do not meet minimum college-level criteria, students must undergo secondary diagnostic testing to determine learning support requirements. Transfer students entering without transferable college-level English composition, collegelevel math, and/or a college-level reading-intensive general education course must be assessed in the area(s) in which no transferable course has been successfully completed (transfer students who have transfer credit equivalent to exit-level developmental courses - DSPW 0800, DSPR 0800, DSPM 0850 and earned a "C" or higher, particularly transfers from TBR schools, will not have to test.). Valid (less than 3 years old) ACT/SAT scores, if available, can be used for initial assessment in the area(s) with no transferable course. If no valid scores are available, students must undergo COMPASS testing in the area(s) with no transferable course to use as a basis for initial assessment. If initial assessment scores do not meet minimum college-level criteria, students must undergo secondary diagnostic testing to determine learning support requirements. Special Students (non-degree seeking)/Certificate Program students without transferable college-level English composition, college-level math, and/or a college-level readingintensive general education course must be assessed in the area(s) in which no transferable course has been successfully completed before enrolling in a course where English, math, and/or reading is a pre-requisite.
