Business and Workplace Education Program Scholarships
Selection Procedures
The Peter L. Agnew Foundation Scholarship Fund, the Herbert A. Tonne Scholarship Fund, the Karen R.
Gillespie Fund, the Adrienne Frosch Fund, and the Audrey Rubin Fund have generously made small tuition
scholarships available for Business and Workplace Education MA graduate students.
These awards will go to highly qualified applicants with strong leadership skills to further their career goals
within the field of Business and Workplace Education. To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must
be accepted to the Business and Workplace Education Program, and be enrolled for at least 6 credits. The
scholarships will be awarded through a competitive selection process.
1. Prospective awardees should complete and submit a hard copy scholarship application form along with a
personal statement of career goals to Professor Bridget O’Connor (address below).
2. The Selection Committee will review all applications and may request applicants to meet with the committee
for a personal interview.
3. The Selection Committee will rank-order the eligible scholarship applicants. Criteria will consist of
undergraduate GPAs, previous academic work in the field, the statement of career goals, and perhaps a
personal interview. Applicants must also intend to register for at least two courses (6 points).
4. The Selection Committee will announce the awards, by email, to the successful candidates. These scholarship
awards are one-time awards, but students can continue to apply for an award on a yearly basis.
5. Awardees must accept the scholarship within two weeks of award notification. At this time they must be
fully matriculated, which includes having submitted the appropriate application deposit. Scholarships not
accepted by this date will be offered to the next ranked candidate(s).
