What we are learning this week …
Reading:
Math:
Readers will
continue their work
learning about how
noticing patterns in
our books can guide
our predictions. We
will be establishing
norms for book clubs
and beginning book
clubs this week.
Every student will
participate in a book
club.
We are currently doing a
unit on fractions. We will learn
about how fractions are always
fair, and fractions are equal
parts. We will focus primarily on
halves, thirds, and fourths, although we will talk about other
fractions, too.
There are no new
vocabulary words this
week.
Science:
Students have
had a blast observing the

Ways you can help…

Second grade is going on a field trip to the Golden Flake
factory this Wednesday, May 4th. We will leave in the morning
and return by lunch. No chaperones needed. *Please have your
child wear tennis shoes and their blue Ranger Ready t-shirt. Also,
the factory does not allow visitors to wear jewelry.
