What we are learning this week …
Reading:
Students are
strengthening their skills to
self select books that are
just right. Soon, book folders will be coming home with
good fit books. This week we
are learning about ways to
take charge of our reading
life and keeping track of our
reading using reading logs.
This week we are learning
about stopping and jotting
ideas on post-its as we read
and learning a myriad of
word attack strategies for
tricky words in our books.

Ways you can help…

Please sign your child’s Agenda every night. This is a communication tool, and
your signature means your child has completed all homework independently.

Each week, your child will be focusing on adding 4 new words to their expressive and receptive vocabulary knowledge each week. There is a slip of
the 4 words and definitions in the front pocket of your child’s Agenda.
Please work on using these words conversationally at home.
