Overview
Once the grant is approved, I will inform the MCPS BOE and request that they
approve the additional funds to continue the MSMC program in full for FY 2011.
This will give me time to try and find a new Federal grant or other type of long term
grant to continue this program. OR as the economy is now just starting to get
better, maybe there will be enough money in the budget in future years to
approve the MSMC as is and students won't have to beg for money each year to
keep it going.
I already contacted my local Congressman about grant funding once (see
photo...but he lost his re-election) and I have been trying to speak with other local
Congressman, but that takes too long to get approved for next year. I'm also trying
to speak at the MD State Assembly in front of the Governor about our situation.
This grant will get us money for the next school year and keep us open.
