Dear 5th, 6th, and 7th grade French Immersion Parents,
Our French class in immersion mirrors the English class curriculum, so we have the same
expectation for summer reading. Students are required to read a MINIMUM of TWO books
preferably originally written in French. You can find such books at local libraries, or may order
them at various book stores such as Barnes and Noble; you may also find them on-line at
http://www.amazon.fr/ (with a search for “jeunesse 9-12 ans”).
Attached you will find the forms needed to record the reading. The completed forms as well as
the project (please refer to the Grading Rubric: “Barème de notation pour le projet sur la lecture
d’été”) are due by Tuesday, September 8, 2015 and will count as one of the grades for the first
quarter.
Thank you for your continued support of the French Immersion program in Middle School.
Have a wonderful summer!
Sincerely,
Madame Terra
French Immersion Teacher at Gaithersburg Middle School
