How to Conquer Syntax

HOW TO CONQUER SYNTAX
Follow these Simple
Rules
(1)
Divide the stem and the ending
(2)
Decide if the stem is a noun,
adjective, or verb stem (you can
also use endings to hel p you)
(3)
If a noun or adjective, use the
ending to determine the case.
If a verb, use the ending to
determine the mood.
If there is more than one
option, look at the context to
help you (surrounding words,
preposit ions, etc.).
(4)
Recall the syntax you know for
each option: noun case Syntax
(Nom subject, Gen Possession,
etc.), adject ive syntax (S. A.P.),
Verb mood Syntax (command,
compliment ary, etc.).
(5)
Look at the context to help you
pick the best choice. Remember:
Nouns only take noun syntax,
adjectives only take adjective
syntax, and verbs only take
verb syntax.
The answer will be clear 99% of
the time. For the other 1%, you
have to pick the choice that you
think is best!
