The Minnesota WIC Program is offering 3 PCS trainings, September 27-29, 2016. Altarum will
present one PCS Skills training and two Leadership trainings over the 3 days. Join us for the
PCS trainings at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
PCS Skills Training – September 27th
This training will focus on the basic skill set needed to conduct nutrition assessment and
provide education using a participant-centered approach. Staff members will practice skills in a
supportive environment with learning activities and role play scenarios. The training will be
similar to the training provided for all staff in 2014 and is to provide new WIC staff the same
baseline skill set. This training will also be suitable for staff who would like, or need, ‘refresher’
training to reinforce their skill set.
Coordinator/Supervisor Leadership Training – September 28th, repeated September 29th
This training will include concepts and skills that will help local agency coordinators /
supervisors effectively support and lead their staff, enhancing their ability to help staff grow
and develop. Coordinators and supervisors will have the opportunity to share best practices
and strategies with each other in this highly interactive training. Potential topics include:
