Celebrating the Life of Ms.
Brunzell by Darby J.
Recently we found
out that a person
that we’re all fond
of, Ms. Brunzell,
has passed away.
Fellow reporter
Brandi Burstein
and I talked with
Ms. Goddard
about what she
was like. I ask her
what her opinion
on her was, she
responded with,
“she never lost her
temper with anyone”. I found out
from Mr. Flaherty
that some kids
even called her
“Mom”. In my
opinion she was
one of the nicest
people I’ve ever
met, always caring
about everybody
else. Never ever
did she think
about herself first
when it came to
the students and
her job. And I
know that she will
be missed, but she
will remain alive
in our hearts and
minds.
A flower for a friend! We miss you, Ms.
Brunzell!

Ms. Peregoy by Brandi Burstein
There is this new, young, and fun teacher in
Bridge named Ms. Peregoy. She loves
comedy movies and pizza. Ms. Peregoy is
from Silver Spring and went to Einstein
High School. She also loves SpongeBob
Squarepants and dolphins. She enjoys
Hawaiian pizza, but I don’t like it because
my mom is allergic. She agrees that summer is the best season like most teachers.
Her birthday is near the end of school on
June 10th! For her birthday, I want to get

her some mint chocolate chip ice cream
which is her favorite kind and goes along
with her favorite color which is green. Ms.
Peregoy enjoys staying in shape and exercising by playing soccer with her two older
brothers. Her favorite part of working at
GMS is working alongside awesome teachers like Ms. Rivera and her awesome students. Oh and one fun fact about Ms. Peregoy is that she loves Jesse from Full House.

Mr. Nelson by Darby Johnson
Mr. Nelson. He may seem like an average
math teacher. But once you “add up” all
the facts, you will find he is much more
than that.
In my interview with him, I found out
interesting facts about him that make him
different from many of his peers. The
first is that he didn’t intend on being a
teacher. In fact he calls himself a “career
change person.” Before he became a
teacher, he helped make movies by being
a sound operator. And these movies were
high octane, like Transformers. He also
worked in a few Super Bowls. But he
said that he doesn’t ever want to film
football again because he loves the sport
so much, he doesn’t want it to become a
job.
In his free time, he explained that he
loves to walk around outside with his
wife “to get lost with nature.” He also
likes going to the gym.
Overall, I thought that Mr. Nelson was
just a plain and simple guy. But once I
got to know him, I knew that I can’t
judge a math book by its cover.
He says that he loves being part of the
GMS Family and “It feels like a real family and that feeling you get when you
walk in the doors is just incredible.”
He said that his plan here at GMS is to
“work really hard and to help students
reach their academic goals, and maybe in
the next couple of years once I get established I’d like to coach some.”

Ms. Bennett by Adam Solomon
There is this cool teacher in the bridge
program named Mrs. Bennett. She Is
from Oklahoma, She likes to scuba dive
and she read 35 Books this summer.
What did she do this past summer? She
went to the beach. She let me know that
her favorite movie is Top Gun,. Her favorite food is chocolate and her favorite
color is green. The best part of her day is
her free time and when she gets to play
with her kids. After the kids go to sleep
she sometimes has time to watch Criminal Minds and play Hearts
I asked her what was her favorite part
about being in the GMS family and she
said having fun with her co-workers. Ms.
Bennett has even lived in the Marshall
Islands.

COFFEE CORNER! By Bryan Grant
The Viking Venti is located in Ms.
Migyanka’s room, 702. They offer hot
coffee and tea delivery on Tuesdays and
Thursdays along with daily walk-in service. One cup of coffee or tea costs
$1.00. Every week they offer new flavors with cream and sugar. Two students
are assigned to go around school and
collect the forms. At the end of the day,
Ms. Migyanka counts the money and uses
it for fundraising purposes for her proS E PT E M B E R I S S U E # 1
gram. This is a great service for teachers
and staff that are thirsty and tired. This is
great for her students because it allows
them to work on communication skills,
math, and reading. Mr. Murray is a regular customer and he has been known to
get extremely grumpy when he hasn’t had
at least 3 cups of coffee. We thank Ms.
Migyanka for keeping the caffeine flowing through Mr. Murray’s veins! Stop by
the Viking Venti today!
