ATTACHMENT C Montgomery County Public Schools School Counselor of the Year Awards 2014–2015 The School Counselor of the Year Awards program honors the best of the best—one counselor from every level (elementary, middle, and high school) National School Counseling Week February 2–6, 2015 Counselors may be nominated by school administrators, staff members, students, and parents/guardians. The nominator must write a letter of nomination (two page maximum) and use each of the five criteria listed below. Nomination letters should be submitted to the principal. Nominations must be made by Friday, March 6, 2015 Criteria for Nomination About National School Counseling Week: “National School Counseling Week 2015, will be celebrated Feb. 2–6, 2015, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
