Approval of Minutes – The minutes from the November 6, 2015 ATC meeting were approved without amendments. 3. Previous Meeting Action Items Review -­‐ a. Wi-­‐Fi at the Women’s Center and the Asian American Studies Center – Phillip shared that the Wi-­‐Fi connection issues have been resolved. 4.
Chair Report a. ACAT Meeting Update – Sales stated that Dominic Little presented about the IT Survey. There was discussion about classroom projectors, redefining lab space for personal computers, new infrastructure implementations, mentoring, and how to choose future trends that emphasize eLearning with 50% or more hybrid courses. Sales noted that the recent eLearning Showcase was very impressive and that he would like to invite some of the same faculty to share their eLearning stories during future ATC meetings. Baker noted that the faculty videos will be posted online soon, at http://www.csun.edu/it/news/faculty-­‐share-­‐their-­‐technological-­‐

Inviting ERC and ACAT to Future ATC Meetings – Sales noted that a joint ATC/ERC meeting has been scheduled for February 5, 2016 and a joint ATC/ACAT meeting has been scheduled for April 8, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Jerry Schutte will present at the joint ATC/ERC meeting. c. Ad hoc Online Student Evaluation Taskforce – Sales noted he received an email from the Faculty Senate office, on behalf of Adam Swenson, inviting an ATC committee member to join the new Ad hoc Online Student Evaluation Taskforce. The meetings will begin in January 2016. Sales stated that he plans participate in the committee unless another member is interested. 5. VP/CIO’s Report a. Upcoming Technology Update with Possible Impact to Faculty (http://hdl.handle.net/10211.3/158639) Baker highlighted the upcoming technology projects that will impact faculty, including an upcoming minor Moodle upgrade, new 3D myCSUNsoftware, and an upgraded virtual private network. Baker shared that in Spring 2016 students will have access to 3D applications: ArcGIS; AutoCAD for the College of Health and Human Development and the College of Engineering and Computer Science; and SolidWorks for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. A new VPN (vpnconnect.csun.edu) will replace the aging VPN which will be decommissioned in May 2016. Regarding the new Portfolium ePortfolio tool, Baker shared that approximately 25% of CSUN students already have used the tool. Faculty can access Portfolium; we hope faculty will encourage students to showcase their projects. The first challenge competition was just completed (http://www.csun.edu/it/portfolium-­‐challenges) and next semester will offer new challenge competitions. Krantz asked if a link to Portfolium could be added next to the Portal login section of the CSUN website. (This will be completed prior to the start of the Spring 2016 semester.) b. IT Survey 2015 (http://www.csun.edu/it/surveys) – Baker shared that the IT Survey 2015 data, Summary report, and Infographics have been posted. c. Google Classroom – Baker shared that Google Classroom platform is available for use by classes for the teacher credential program. This is needed for these students and faculty because LAUSD teachers use Google Classroom in K-­‐12 classrooms. 6. Discussion Topics a. Resolution Regarding Affordable Learning Solutions (ALS) -­‐ Sales shared a draft of the proposed resolution of Affordable Leaning Solutions (ALS). Following committee discussion, some minor modifications to the wording were discussed. The approved final draft resolution will be presented by Chris Sales to Senate Executive Committee in January. b. Faculty Stories Regarding AL$ – Kristy Michaud -­‐ Zell shared that Michaud wrote her eTextbook in 2010 using Soomo. The eTextbook is one of the best sellers in American Government. Michaud stated that Soomo provides an ancillary platform with valuable and original content, which she used along with her old printed textbook. Michaud shared that the President of Soomo offered her the opportunity to collaborate with a colleague to write a web-­‐text. The web-­‐text is available to $50 for students. The web-­‐text needs to be reviewed by the department’s textbook committee every other year. Postma inquired about the analytic portion of Soomo. Michaud shared that she is able to obtain analytics on reading and active pages. The information is helpful in order to give students feedback to improve their grade and study habits. Other universities, colleges, and community colleges nationwide use the web-­‐text. Faculty who utilize the web-­‐text can add or delete chapters and make it appropriate for their individual course. Michaud noted that the publisher owns the work. c. Faculty Application (https://www.csun.edu/faculty) -­‐ Fitzgerald introduced the META+LAB team who then provided a demonstration of the new Faculty Application. Aivazian shared that the features of the application encourage collaboration and provide information to students and faculty. All faculty profiles include a brief biography, classes, office hours, and connections. Hernandez stated that Daisy Lemus creates the faculty stories. 7. Department/College Issues – None. 8.
