Travilah News in… Kindergarten
January/February
Happy New Year!
Dates to Remember
Our Kindergarteners have each made a
resolution for 2016! Whether the students
set a goal for home or school, each child
made a plan and is trying their very best to
reach it! Working together and having fun
together has truly brought our young
students close; we are all great friends!
Being a great friend comes with being
understanding of each other’s feelings. Our
counselor, Mrs. Heyn continues to meet
with our classes to discuss different feelings
and appropriate ways to deal with them.

Don’t Forget…
Please remember to read with your child
every day. Let them show off their skills! Be
sure to ask your child to retell the story and
ask questions about the story’s characters,
setting, problem, and solution. If the book is
non-fictional, have the child tell you a few
facts that they may have learned after
reading.
Living Things!
We are sure that you have heard all about
our new visitors in Kindergarten...the
mealworms! We are studying their life
cycle. Right now we are able to observe the
mealworm (larve) stage. Next come the
pupa, followed by the Darkling beetles,
which will lay eggs and the cycle continues.
Science class is interesting!
Love is in the air!
Our students have grown to love and
appreciate their friendships with one
another. Please be sure to make a Valentine
for EACH AND EVERY classmate. Please be
on the lookout for a class list in your child’s
folder and have a good time addressing
before our Valentine party on Friday,
February 12!
