WELCOME BACK! – I hope you had a wonderful winter break and are ready for many fun activities that we have
planned and lots of new learning! Our annual Read-A-Thon is being “kicked off” today at lunch. Please look for
the information to come home with your child. This is an important fundraiser for our PTA and a wonderful
opportunity for our students to focus on reading! I hope you will join us on Wednesday, January 20th for our ReadA-Thon Pajama Party from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the all purpose room. Many staff members will be there as guest
readers. There will be yummy desserts and great books! Many thanks to Mrs. Halpern who is organizing this event.
Thank you also to the PTA, especially Mrs. Kravitz and Mrs. Noble for the delicious cookie exchange for staff.
Everyone, including our families, truly appreciated and enjoyed the cookies. Many thanks to the PTA for
sponsoring the Cultural Arts presentation we had this week, Flow Circus. The children were entertained with
juggling, magic, and dancing, all while learning interesting science facts about gravity, etc. Thank you also to the
many parents who have donated games for the children to use when we have indoor recess. This is terrific. What a
treat to have so many new and fun activities to do when the weather is cold. Upcoming events, such as our annual
Spelling Bee, Bingo Night, Valentine’s Day parties, Jump Rope for Heart, and STEM Fair will all keep us busy! As
always, I truly appreciate your continued support. We are all so fortunate to be part of this amazing community!

PTA FUNDRAISER - Travilah Elementary School is inviting you to participate in a unique fundraiser to “Pave the
Way” for our students. Leave a lasting legacy by purchasing a paver to be permanently displayed and remembered
forever. Each paver that you sponsor may honor you, your student, a teacher or staff member, former student, a
family member, friend, local business or anyone! The pavers will be etched with your custom inscription and placed
within the landscaping around the circle, in front of our school.
All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to our PTA.
Please submit orders before Friday, April 15, 2016 for spring 2016 installation.
