Student of the Week
N
orth Chevy Chase and Spring are a great combination for
superb staff and great events! This week, we look forward
to the great treats from our PTA for Staff Appreciation
Week. And, hand-written notes from the students always bring
smiles to our faces. If you have a moment, please encourage your
child to write a note to a staff member thanking them for their
dedication.
In our Spring newsletter, please pay close attention to
upcoming dates for NCC special events and field trips. Also, you will
find a page of MCPS sponsored events for the family. I look forward
to seeing you at the next PTA meeting, May 6th, at 7:30 p.m.

New construction generally reaps great possibilities for NCC
students. Over the past few years, our school community has
made many adjustments to the way we operate to receive both a
new gym and additional classrooms. Now, we have just a few
more months to receive a newly designed outdoor space; thus, we
have to make an adjustment to our annual field day. This year,
?Field Day? activities were done within the normal PE classes
periods.
If you have saved a work ?personal?leave day to volunteer for
field day, please consider rescheduling and helping with

M CPS GI V E BA CKpacks Campaign Under Way
The MCPS GIVE BACKpacks campaign is under way and needs
your help to raise funds to purchase backpacks filled with
school supplies for MCPS students in need. Last year, the district
was able to provide more than 19,000 backpacks to students
thanks to the generosity of MCPS parents, staff, and community
members. We?re hoping to serve even more students this year.
A backpack filled with school supplies only costs $10, and
donors have the option to sponsor an individual student, a
classroom, a grade level, an entire school, or a cluster of
schools. Additional information is available at
www.mcpsgivebackpacks.org or by calling 301-309-MCPS.
