Principal's Post- April 2016

North Chevy Chase Elementary School
3700 Jones Bridge Road
Chevy Chase, MD 20815
Principal’s Post April 2016 From the Principal’s Desk____________ Thank you to all parents who either made contributions or gave of your time to make the Big Draw an enjoyable educational experience for every student. Many parents and visitors commented on the “atmosphere” in the building. This is unequivocally the most important ingredient that takes a school or community from good to great. A special thanks to Ms. Moore for all of her hard work, coordination and dedication to this wonderful program. As we begin the last grading period, reflect on what’s left to do before we conclude the school year. You should be as proud as I am of the students and what they have accomplished so far. Continually, the constant variable in all of this is you the parents. You have worked hard and your support and encouragement are our mainstay. WE are looking forward to closing the school out on a positive note. You’re in the Spotlight!
Congratulations to the following students who were chosen by the teachers as
Student of the Week

Students are recognized on the morning announcements, their pictures can be found in the front showcase and on the television screen in the front hallway. Additionally, they are invited to join the principal for lunch. Congratulations again

. College Fair Way2Go Maryland College Fair Set for May 7 The University System of Maryland (USM) will host a College Preparation Event for students in Grades 6–10 and their parents on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Universities at Shady Grove. The event will bring together current college students and admissions and financial aid representatives from USM institutions to chat with students and their parents/guardians about preparing and paying for college. Event attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from the College Savings Plan of Maryland. This is a great opportunity for MCPS middle and high school students to engage with college students and hear firsthand about life on a college campus. It is also a great way for them to get tips directly from USM admissions officers on how to prepare for and apply to college. Visit

The Universities at Shady Grove.
