Conclusion
• The main organs of speech are : lips, teeth, teeth
ridge, tongue, hard palate, soft palate , uvula,
pharynx, larynx.
• Sounds cannot be made without moving or vibrating
those organs of speech (articulators)
• There are nine places of articulation: bilabial,
labiodental, dental, alveolar, palato alveolar, palatal,
velar and glottal.
• There is an arbitrary relation between sound and
spelling, therefore one sound must be represented by
one symbol.
