Thank you for your patience during the FluMist vaccine shipment delays this season. All clinics should have received
their pre-booked doses. If you have any doses that will expire before you can use them, MedImmune’s FluMist
Replacement Program allows you to return unused, expiring FluMist vaccine received from the Minnesota Department
of Health and have them replaced at no cost in increments of 10. The minimum number that can be replaced is 10
doses.
To return and replace FluMist vaccine, follow these steps:
1. Contact the FluMist Replacement Program by email ([email protected]) or phone
(1-877-633-7375) to request replacement doses. You will need to provide:
a. the number of doses you need replaced
b. how many boxes (maximum 10 per box)
c. your Provider Identification Number (PIN)
You will receive instructions for returning the expired FluMist vaccine and a date for pick‐up.
2. Box up your FluMist vaccine and have it ready for the scheduled pick‐up day. Doses from multiple eligible lot #s can
be used to achieve the required multiple of 10. Note: Expired FluMist vaccine does not have to be returned cold.
3. Within one business day of receiving and verifying your request, a courier will pick up the boxed FluMist at no charge.
4. Upon receiving the expiring/expired doses, one of the following will happen:

Then…
Match the request
Replacement doses will ship within 72 business hours
Are in excess of the request
Only replacement doses that were initially requested will be shipped within 72
business hours
Are actually less than requested
Only the doses received (rounded down to the nearest multiple of 10) will be
replaced

To return unused or expired FluMist vaccine without replacing them, do the following:
Contact MDH at 651‐201‐5522 for approval and instructions. We will contact McKesson to coordinate a UPS pick‐up
within two weeks.
2016-17 MnVFC and UUAV Influenza Pre-book
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently informed us that flu pre-book will take place earlier this
year than in previous years. We do not have specific dates yet, but please be ready to place your 2016-17 MnVFC and
UUAV flu pre-book orders by mid-January. We will send out more detailed information as soon as it is available.
