1. Montgomery College will host the U.S. Department of Energy's National Science Bowl,
Maryland High School State Science Bowl Competition at the Rockville Campus on January 16,
2016.
The event encourages and celebrates student involvement in math and science activities,
improves awareness of career options in science and technology, and provides an avenue of
enrichment and reward for academic science achievement. The winning team from the
Maryland competition will represent Maryland at the National Science Bowl competition in
April. The National Science Bowl is a highly visible educational event and academic competition
among teams of high school students who attend science seminars and compete in a verbal
forum to solve technical problems and answer questions in all branches of science and math.
