UTRIP 2011 The University of Tokyo Research Internship Program 2011 The Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo Prepare for the rigors of graduate study in natural sciences: UTRIP is open to those who are seriously thinking of pursuing a doctoral degree in the natural science and other relevant fields. You will gain the experience of “real graduate-school life” at the University of Tokyo (known as TODAI in Japan). Lectures on cross-disciplinary scientific areas are also part of the program. You can stay at TODAI for a period of between six and eight weeks. Please check the website below for further details. Participants will receive intensive instructions and lectures from the School’s renowned faculty members, and will work side-by-side with graduate students and faculty who serve as role models and as mentors. Chance to receive the School’s scholarships: Participants who are highly rated by faculty members will be given priority for financial aid when and if they apply for graduate admission in School in the following year. Eligibility: Be currently enrolled in the junior or senior year of a Bachelor program in a four-year education system, or the equivalent year at the time of application. Be specializing in natural science, engineering, or other relevant fields. Japanese proficiency is not prerequisite. We will accept up to twenty (20) talented students with a genuine desire to pursue a career in natural science research. Financial Aid: Participants will receive school financial support to cover expenses such as airfares, accommodation, etc. Learn about Japan: Participants will have opportunities to learn about Japanese culture and the Japanese language.
