Questions:
1) Are outbreaks disease-specific or can you link events with multiple diseases?
A: Outbreaks are disease-specific.
2) Was this the only training for Outbreak QP or will there be more?
A: Most likely, there will be more. The topic of outbreaks was previously planned to be
part of the ‘advanced training’ but we may instead create more topic-specific trainings.
3) Can exposure sites be saved across counties?
A: Yes, exposure sites are available for the entire MEDSS system. At the most recent
MDH user group, it was decided that more discussion is needed regarding the use of
exposure sites.
4) Can outbreaks be saved across counties?
A: Yes, users in different counties can link their events to the same outbreak. They will
only see the cases in their counties, however. Naming conventions were discussed at
the recent MDH user group meeting.
