Hello Travilah Families,
We have some wonderful events coming up this spring. Every student from first grade up will be
involved in our concerts.
The first and second graders will be performing the mini-musicals “Once Upon a Lily Pad” and
“Stone Soup” on Tuesday May 19. There is a show for the school during the day and an evening
performance at 7pm here at Travilah.
The third graders are learning the recorder, a fantastic teaching tool for reading music and
learning how to perform in an ensemble. However, with a concert of only 10-15 minutes, they will be
having their performance only during the school day. Parents are welcome, the show will begin at
2:30pm on Friday May 22.
The fourth grade will be presenting their musical “Pirates” on June 4 with an in-school show for
the others students and an evening show at 7pm at Travilah. Students should start piecing together a
costume. It can be as simple or elaborate as you’d like. Please contact me if you need assistance with a
costume. Also, we are planning on building a small set and painting a backdrop. We will need your help.

The fifth grade chorus and the fourth/fifth grade band and orchestra will be performing
together on May 11 at 7pm. We will also have a concert during the school day. Students are asked to
wear their concert dress (white tops and black bottoms) for both shows.
