January 22: Begin Fundraiser Hand out sheet and explain fundraiser Who: American Heart Association What: HANDBALL for Heart (MBJH spin on Hoops for Heart) When: February Why: We are participating in a community service project that brings awareness to the issue of Heart disease through fundraising. Form teams February 10: Instructions for online registration, creating a webpage and sending emails will be available on the PE Moodleroom AND the PE webpage. February 12: E-day-- The E-day assignment is to register online and will count for class participation. February 16-22: Handball Tournament a. For every $25.00 donated- The team will be spotted two points. b. Winner will be the team with the most points on Feb. 22 February 17-18: Candy Gram sale c. $2/gram must have recipient name and PE class period d. May be anonymous February 22: Candy Gram Distribution/Handball Play-off (if close)/Half-court and Hot Shot Competition (if Handball is a blow-out) e. If the HB tourney is out of hand, we may want to scratch the last day and offer Half-court shots and Hot Shot Competition (prize TBD) f. Hot Shot ($5.00 for a minute) g. Half Court Shots ($2.00 one shot) Incentives: In addition to the thank you gifts provided by the AHA that are mentioned on the envelopes, we will: NOTE: 1. 2. 3. 4. Award 5 bonus points to those that send 5 emails asking for donations through your Hoops for Heart webpage The team that raises the highest % of money will receive a popsicle party in the spring. The team that scores the most points throughout Hoops for Heart will receive a popsicle party in the spring If you do not contribute to your team you will not be able to participate in the prizes You will lose 5 points if you do not create a website regardless of your contributions. The envelope is a tool, but is not necessary to participate. Everyone is expected to register online.
