STRAWBERRY KNOLL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Welcome to a New School Year!
We are thrilled to begin another new school year with the “berry-best” staff, students, and
families! We have already seen an air of confidence among our Kindergarten students as
they can now locate their classrooms, enter their SNAP account PIN numbers, and assemble
in their designated recess lines. We not only welcomed 86 Kindergarten students to our
school, but also opened our doors to 40 new students in first through fifth grades. It was an
absolute pleasure to see our new and returning Strawberry Knoll families at last Friday’s
Open House. This annual event is a homecoming for both children and adults. So, welcome home!!
We look forward to seeing you at tomorrow evening’s Back to School Night. Attached for
your review is our Back to School Night program. Given the popularity of tomorrow
evening’s event, we suggest you carpool, or if weather permits, walk to school. Please remember, Back to School Night is for parents and guardians. We kindly ask the children
remain at home and are supervised.
Although the year is new, our school’s culture and reputation remains the same. Our school
staff remains committed to working in partnership with you as we provide our Noble
Knights with a high quality instructional program. We embrace diversity. Everyone is
treated respectfully and cared for in a nurturing school environment. Our goal is to ensure
our Noble Knights present themselves as competent learners and caring citizens!
Enjoy the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Safe travels to those of you destined for points
beyond the metro area. We look forward to seeing our students on Tuesday, September 2,
2014.

Speed Limit and Pedestrian Safety Update
Now that school has resumed, it’s important for us drivers to follow the speed limit, particularly in school zones, and remain mindful of pedestrians. Thank you for driving the speed
limit (25 mph) along Strawberry Knoll Road and throughout Quail Valley. We appreciate
your vigilance of students and families as they Walk to and from school each day. As we
adults are roles models for our children, let’s continue to use designated crosswalks here at
the Knoll and throughout the school community.
