Second Grade Shark Shout
September, 2015
Dear Families,
Welcome back! It has been a great first week in second grade. We
are excited to share our first edition of our Shark Shout newsletter.
Look for our newsletter at the start of each month to keep you informed
about what is going on in second grade.
Our first week was dedicated to building a culture that promotes
the core values of Stonegate: responsibility, respect, collaboration, and
commitment. Role-playing, singing, reading, and problem solving were just
a few of the opportunities students had to begin building relationships
with both their peers and adults.
September will be a busy month. We will continue to emphasize the
rules and routines of second grade. On the back of this newsletter, you
will find a user-friendly guide to the topics of instruction for the month.
Please visit the MCPS website at http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org
for more detailed information. You will receive a packet at Back to School
Night explaining policies, procedures, and curriculum.
We are looking forward to working hand in hand with you to ensure
the success of your children. Our mission is clear and the possibilities
are endless!
