Second Grade Shark Shout
Students will use various text
features to locate key facts
or information in a text
efficiently.
Students will ask and answer
“wh” questions to
demonstrate understanding
of key details in a text.
Students will use root words
to determine the meaning
of words.
Students will identify ways
to classify objects based
on their observable
properties.
Students will give reasons
for placing objects into
groups.
Students will participate in
shared research about fire
safety.
Students will write an
informative text about fire
safety.
Students will strengthen
their writing by revising and
editing with peers and
adults.
Students will focus on
Health Education skills this
week:
-Explain how to improve or
maintain personal health
-Identify health services in the
community
Students will determine
whether a group of objects
has an odd or even number
of members by pairing
objects or counting by 2s.
Students will write equations
to express doubles and
doubles + one.
Students will apply strategies
to add and subtract within
20.
Conferences will be
held the week of
November 9-13.
