Second Grade Shark Shout
Students will identify the main
topic of a multi-paragraph text
and describe how reasons
support specific points the
author makes in a text.
Students will explain how
images contribute to and
clarify a text.
Students will identify singular
and plural forms of irregular
nouns.
Students will identify and
record observable properties
of the moon over time.
(Moon Journal Week #5)
Students will record
observations about the Painted
Lady butterfly.
Students will write an
informative text which
introduces a topic and uses
facts to develop points.
Topic: Biography Study
Students will strengthen their
writing by revising and editing
with peers and adults.
Reminder:
Please take time to review
the midterm report with
your child. Talk about areas
of need and areas of
strength. Set goals
together. Thanks.
Students will use the relationship
between addition and
subtraction to subtract a 3-digit
number from a 3-digit number.
Students will apply strategies to
mentally add and subtract
within 20.
Students will gather and
interpret information about
the past from artifacts, an
informational source, or
biography.
Focus: Cesar Chavez
Students will identify
similarities and differences
between butterflies and moths.
HOMEROOM
Students will apply strategies to
solve subtraction problems within
1,000 which include decomposing
from tens to ones and/or
hundreds to tens.

looking for old fitted queensize sheets. If you have one
