Dear Families, I hope everyone is doing well and getting back into the swing of things after our surprise break! Take a look at what we are learning next week: Reading: We will continue celebrating Black History Month by learning about the contributions of some wonderful men! We will read about Jackie Robinson, George Washington Carver, Barack Obama, and Thurgood Marshall. We will also be practicing asking and answering questions and using text features to help us learn more information. Writing: We will continue doing informational writing by researching different ecosystems. This week will be partner research. We will be taking notes, writing facts, and coming up with a topic sentence and a conclusion. We will also focus on using conjunctions, upper case letters, spaces, and punctuation. Math: We will continue our exploration of non-standard units of measurement. This week we will use cubes, paper clips and other various objects to measure. We will focus on lining objects end to end to get an accurate measurement. Ex: Science/Social Studies: In science we will continue studying Earth materials. We will identify natural and humanmade features in our environment. We will also discuss erosion and how the Earth’s surface changes over time. How can you help at home?
