Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies Curriculum This interdisciplinary major prepares students for community- oriented professions and active engagement in public service and problem-solving. Urban studies students are well prepared to begin careers in government, nonprofit or private sector organizations, or to pursue graduate-level study in the social sciences, public administration or planning. A key focus of this degree is coursework in the area of Community Leadership and Public Service, and students may complete a minor in Nonprofit Management and Leadership as well without exceeding 120 credit hours. This minor provides key skills and the opportunity to build connections with regional nonprofits through service learning and an internship. The Urban Studies major is being designed as a completely online degree program. Eligibility Any undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree at TSU is eligible to enter this minor. The state and Federal governments, TSU, and many other employers offer generous fee waivers or tuition reimbursement – check with your employer on their policy.
