MOFFAT WORLD TRAVELS
During the early months of 2011, in Marilyn Moffat’s official capacity as
World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) President, she did
site visits with WCPT staff to review the three finalist countries that had
made bids to host the 2015 World Congress. Thus, Marilyn was initially in
Capetown, South Africa, then Singapore, and finally Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
June 2011 was the time of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy
General Meeting and Congress held every four years and was convened in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At that meeting, Marilyn was elected for a
second term as President of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.
In September, she traveled to Beirut, Lebanon for the 8th International
Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists in Lebanon. In October, she
attended the Annual Meeting of the Asociacion Fisioterapia Brasileiro in
Florianópolis, Brazil.

The group was easily recognizable by banners promoting the
Foundation for Physical Therapy and the bright green shirts that
flanked the outdoor area of NBC studios in mid-town Manhattan.
Today show weatherman and feature anchor Al Roker
pointed out our group, referenced the Foundation by name,
and indicated that he was a fan of the profession himself,
commenting, “Always love the physical therapists!” Other
