Principal’s Report
a. 5th grade chorus will perform on December 8 at 7 PM.
b. Luxmanor is scheduled for renovation January 2020.
c. Roundtable in the spring at WJ, more information coming soon.
d. There will be meetings about after care.
e. Some buses arrive early and the children need to stay on the buses until the doors
open.
f. Discussion about drop off and pick up schedules and the principal will ask parents
not to block traffic in his notes home.
Officers’ Report
A. President’s Report
a. Discussed Direct Donations and membership
b. Silent Auction needs co-chairs and the date will be moved further out.
B. Treasurer’s Report
a. 2014-2015 books were reviewed and in good standings.
b. Eat Well-Do Well brought in $1300 from the dine outs.
c. PTA purchased some new carpets.
d. There will be a cultural arts performance, Snow Day.
C. MCCPTA
a. Advocacy Priorities were discussed
i. Mitigating growth
ii. Closing achievement gaps
iii. Saturday School
iv. Accountability Communication
v. Technology
b. Survey about WJ overcrowding:
i. Top priority: reopening Woodward
ii. Least favorite: WJ overcrowding
c. Discussion if more schools can be opened using office buildings, similar
to some areas in Virginia.
Committee Reports
a. Family Fun Night: February 19 from 7-9 at Luxmanor. Motion to grant $650 to
fund Family Fun Night (Bingo Night): Nermine motioned it and Lori seconded
the motion and it passed!
b. 5th grade report: meeting tomorrow morning at 10 AM
c. Bylaws will be updated at the next meeting.

d. Geography Bowl will be February 23/24. There are new booklets.
e. Screen Free Week will provide certificates if the children are successful.
f. Box Tops: Keep bringing them in. First party will be in January for the first half
of the year and then in January it starts again.
New Business
a. December 10: Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
b. December 8: Barbara is back!
c. Mr. Perkins is retiring this year and the PTA voted to contribute to his gift.
