students in Gr. 1-10 are offered after school and on Saturdays on the Germantown and Rockville
Campuses. Partial scholarships may be available for students who demonstrate financial need or
qualify for free or reduced lunch. For registration, course descriptions, dates and locations, please go

International Walk to School Day is October 7, 2015. This year, Resnik is the host school. This
means we will welcome county government and police officials to join us as we walk to school. On
the morning of October 7, all students will gather on the grass by Hadley Farms School where their
teachers will meet them. If your child rides a bus, the bus will drop students off at the school and the
students will walk over the Hadley Farms School to join their class. If you drive to school, you
should drop your student off in the parent drop off and teachers will be there to direct the students.
We will begin our walk to school at around 8:50. The entire school will walk that morning- rain or
shine.
Friday, October 2nd is an early release day for students. Teachers have the afternoon for planning
and working on grading. An early release day means that students are dismissed at 1:00 pm. Please make
sure your child knows his/her plans for the afternoon. If there is a change in their dismissal plans please
make sure you notify teachers. Thank you for your help in a smooth dismissal.
Please plan on visiting your child’s classroom on Monday, October 12th for our annual Open
House. Parents are invited to observe a typical school day for your child. We welcome visitors from
9:00 – 12:00 pm. All parents are expected to enter through the main doors and sign in. We request that
younger siblings not attend. Parking is limited in our parking lot so, it may be necessary for you to park
on the street that day. We look forward to having you join us for the morning instructional period.
Homework Hotline Live (HHL) is back! HHL is available 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
and Thursdays, both on MCPS cable TV and at www.AskHHL.org . Visit www.AskHHL.org, text to
"7244 ASK HHL", or e-mail to [email protected]. Students who do not have cable or internet access
can contact the Hotline by calling 301-279-3234. Students receive help directly from MCPS teachers, and
can see and hear the teachers “live" on MCPS-TV and on the web at www.AskHHL.org.
Thanks to the PTA and everyone who came out to support us with the ICE CREAM SOCIAL! The
students had a great time dancing, eating ice cream and playing with their friends. It’s always nice
to see staff, parents and students fellowshipping together. Thanks again!
