Barnes, PhD is a professor in the departments of neurological sciences and behavioral sciences at Rush University Medical Center, and a cognitive neuropsychologist in the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. She earned her PhD in biopsychology from the University of Michigan in 1996 and completed postdoctoral training in cognitive neuroscience from the University of California, Davis, before joining the faculty at Rush in 1999. Her research focus is on social determinants of health and cognitive aging among minority populations. We would like to thank TSU-NERVE (NINDS) for sponsoring the event.
