Farmland Elementary School 7000 Old Gate Road Rockville, MD 20852 (301) 230-5919 Dear Parents, Each Montgomery County Public School is required to have a written local discipline policy that is reviewed annually. During the 2014-2015 school year, the Farmland Discipline Policy was revised by the Farmland Safety and Discipline Committee to incorporate the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) philosophy. This policy is reviewed annually. Attached is a copy of Farmland’s discipline policy that has been discussed in each classroom. We believe that staff, parents and students are in a partnership to help everyone understand and support the behavioral expectations so that all students can learn. It is important that parents discuss these expectations for behavior at school and help their children understand that rules must be made and enforced for the good of all children. The school staff has reviewed the policy and is committed to the fair, firm, and consistent implementation of the local discipline code. Our three school wide expectations are: “Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe.” By working together, Farmland will continue to be a safe, happy, productive school where all children can learn. Please discuss the attached policy with your child at home and return the bottom portion of the form to your child’s teacher. Sincerely, Mary Bliss Principal Daniel Tucci Assistant Principal Attachments Please sign and return this tear-off to your child’s teacher. I have discussed the school discipline policy with my child.
