Sponsorship
Opportunities
Dear Madame/Sir:
Tennessee State University continues to boldly embark on a new year of academic excellence, scholarly
research and service. On October 16, 2015 the university will celebrate its 100 Years of Alumni
Excellence. This important fundraising initiative is designed to meet scholarship needs and ensure the
university provides an enriched, highly technical, academic environment which successfully educates and
prepares students for the global marketplace.
We ask for your support in helping the university to become transformational where the best and brightest
students can be steeped in interdisciplinary study, STEM education and research. We invite you, your
colleagues and friends to join us for this momentous occasion to be held at the new Omni Hotel in
downtown Nashville. Tickets, tables and sponsorship opportunities are available. Please complete the
enclosed card and return your payment to the address provided. For more information on the Scholarship
Gala, including reservation information, visit our website at www.tnstate.edu and click on the Scholarship
Gala Information link on our home page. Your contributions and partnership with TSU will directly
support scholarships and will help propel TSU to greater heights.
We appreciate your continued support. If you need additional information, please contact Betsy Jackson
or Ben Northington in the Office of Development at (615) 963-5481. We look forward to seeing you
October 16, 2015!
Sincerely,

A success behind every contribution…
Kourtney Daniels is an Agricultural
Sciences major concentrating in Food
Technology from Hendersonville,
Tenn. Daniels plans on going to
graduate school and hopes to obtain a
career with the USDA or with a
privatized food corporation. She said,
“Every opportunity that I have been
able to experience is due to the
hardworking faculty and staff of this
institution. They saw my potential and
are making it their goal to help bring it
out of me.”
Ryan Gammon is a Criminal Justice from
Memphis, Tenn. and has been taking on
volunteer projects that range from picking up
trash around campus to larger projects in
conjunction with the Center for Service
Learning and Civic Engagement. “My ultimate
goal is to leave TSU with a legacy of giving to
this community and to make it a better place,”
he said. Gammon was recently rewarded for his
hard work when he received a letter signed by
President Barack Obama congratulating him
with the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Racheal Gregory is an Agriculture
Education major from Gallatin, Tenn. and
was recently one of three undergraduates
recognized for “exceptional” performance
at the inaugural TSU Farm Bureau
