Enjoy this summer by doing as many of these fun literacy activities as you can. Help your child keep learning this summer with some of these
ideas. Cross out each activity as you do them. Bring your calendar when school starts and show your teacher what you’ve been doing this
summer.

Remember a good reader is someone who understands
what they have read!

Take a walk. Keep a list of
things on your walk you
see on your walk that
make you go “WOW!”

Share a favorite part with

Save for a rainy day!
Prepare for a rainy day by packing
a bag with fun snacks and books.
When it rains, you will be ready for
a fun day indoors.
Research shows that students who read over the
summer do better in school. Students can lose as
much as 3 to 6 months of ground in their reading
level over the summer. Make sure your child reads
everyday. Reading to your child counts too.
Read at least 15 minutes every
