Dr. Charles Drew Elementary School
Fourth Grade Dolphin Splash
Dear Parents,
Our fourth graders are doing a great job adjusting to
fourth grade and being on-task, collaborative learners.
They are following the Drew High 5 standards and working
hard to demonstrate our first marking period character
trait of respect.
We are excited about the prospect of working with our
playwright in residence, Mr. John Morogiello, during the
month of November. We will be writing plays that focus
on myths and legends of Native American tribes across
the United States. We look forward to presenting the
plays that the students create in early December.

College Week
At Drew, students in grades 3 – 5 engage in student-led
parent-teacher conferences. You and your child will
attend conferences together and students will lead the
Early Release Day
conference by reviewing their goals and data notebooks
with parents. Parents will have an opportunity to speak
Thanksgiving Holiday
with teachers, as well. We will be practicing learning how
to run these conference over the coming week. Reminders
will be sent home to confirm your conference date and time.
Please be sure to contact us if you should have any questions or concerns. We
look forward to seeing all of you at parent-teacher conferences.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Byrne and Mr. Logsdon
