Study Skills:
Be sure that your child is completing his/her nightly homework and reading log. It is important that students
continue this habit until the end of the year. We’ve found that students who consistently complete their daily
reading log increase as much as 7 reading levels within a school year! This is especially true for students reading
below the benchmark level. Please make sure to reinforce daily studying and homework completion.
Helping at Home:
Please continue to check your child’s folders and review all returned assignments to reinforce the skills that are
being taught in school. For example, ask your child to explain how he/she completed the task and guide your child
to correct any mistakes he/she may have made. You can also provide additional practice in math for your child by
asking them to complete any unfinished independent practice work that comes home (sometimes students do not
have time to finish their independent practice in school because they are being pulled in small groups for
instruction).
Other Reminders:
As allergy season is reaching its peak, please remember our classroom. Students go through tissues very quickly
during this time of year and our supplies are running low. If you can find a way to donate a box of tissues to the
classroom it will be greatly appreciated!
