Note
Ensure that the BE 6000 server is rack-mounted, connected to electrical power source and customer data
network as illustrated in the Quick Start Guide (QSG), which is included in the shipping box. Also ensure
that a monitor and keyboard are connected to the server.
Before you proceed with installation, collect the network information from the data network administrator.

Concepts
Prime Collaboration introduces the following concepts:
Subscriber
A user with services provisioned like phone, voicemail, and email.
Domain
A grouping of Subscribers based on a geography location or a department.
Subscriber Roles
Control which products and services that a subscriber can order.

Concepts
Service Area
A logical partition that defines the class of services for the services ordered in that service area. A
service area is linked to a single call processor (Unified Communications Manager), message processor
(Cisco Unity Connection) and presence processor (IM and Presence Service). Subscriber roles and
Directory Number Blocks (DNB) are associated with a service area.
The following figure shows how the concepts are associated.
Figure 1: Concept association

Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity
Connection integration
The instructions for integrating Cisco Unified Communications Manager with Cisco Unity Connection by
Skinny Call Control Protocol (SCCP) are provided in the URL that follows. Cisco Unity Connection supports
SCCP integration when Cisco Unified CM has only SCCP phones or has both SCCP and SIP phones.

LDAP Directory Integration
This value must exactly match the value configured
in Cisco Unified Communications Manager. If Cisco
Unified Communications Manager is integrated with
an external LDAP, subscribers are not created through
Provisioning; instead they are synchronized through
Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
While placing an order, if a subscriber is not available
on Cisco Unified Communications Manager, the
workflow subsystem waits for a predefined period of
time (24 hours by default) for the subscriber to be
available on Cisco Unified Communications Manager
and then continues processing the order. The 24-hour
period can be configured on Provisioning in the
ipt.properties file.1
Change the following settings:
• dfc.oem.extdir.retries: 24
• dfc.oem.extdir.retry_interval: 3600

Directory Number Blocks
See “Create Directory Number Blocks”.

Create directory number blocks
Provisioning handles directory numbers the same way as Cisco Unified Communications Manager. For
example, if the prefix is 408, the first number is 0, the last number is 100, and the minimum length is 4, then
the range of the directory number block would be 4080000 through 4080100.
If a subscriber tries to order a service from a Service Area that does not have a directory number block, the
order is paused in the workflow until that directory number block has been added.

Configure provisioning attribute
Products attribute settings are configured using Provisioning Attributes. Provisioning attributes are configuration
settings that are applied to a product during activation. These attributes can be assigned and configured at
different levels within Provisioning. By default, the provisioning attribute set at Service Area or Subscriber
Role level takes precedence over provisioning attributes set at the Domain level.
Follow this procedure to configure the provisioning attribute for a Service Area. The steps are similar to
configure provisioning attributes for a domain or a subscriber role.

Domain access, you can only copy-managed phones that are orderable
for the subscriber and are in the user's manageable Domains, as long as
the phone belongs to the same Call Processor.

When a phone is copied, services are not copied to the new phone. For
example, if lines, voicemails or emails exist on the phone, they will not
be copied to the new phone. In addition to this, the set only attributes
associated with the phone are not copied. Through Copy phone you can
only copy the provisioning attributes that are set while creating an order.
