CONFERENCES – after 1:00 PM
Dear Montgomery Knolls Families,
Our Annual Columbus Day Open House was extremely well attended this past
week. In fact, we welcomed over 225 visitors that included parents, grandparents,
aunts, and uncles. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to support our
school and your child(ren). If you were not able to visit on Monday, there will be
many other opportunities to visit school this year for grade level events, concerts,
parties, field day, and family fun nights.
Speaking of parties, we will hold our annual MKES Fall Festivities on Friday,
October 30th. Historically, MKES does not have a Halloween Parade and
celebration. Instead, teachers at each grade level engage students in Fall-related
activities of a fun and educational nature. Parents may join students for the
classroom party held from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the end of the day. A flyer has been
sent home with more information.
This is a reminder that with the entrance of Fall, comes the changing weather.
The mornings are crisp and cool, therefore a sweater or light jacket is advisable.
As the day progresses and gets warmer, these items of clothing usually end up
being left on the fence, on the playground, in the classroom or lunch-room.
Please be sure your child’s name is marked on every item of clothing. That makes
it easier to re-unite students with their property.
Parents are also reminder that November 11th & 12th are the two half days set
aside for Parent/Teacher Conferences. This is a very important time when
teachers and parents meet to discuss your child’s performance. If you have not
confirmed an appointment with your child’s teacher, please email the teacher or
call the school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Generlette

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR- This year, we
decided to increase last year’s goal from
$6.000 to $7.000 and I’m happy to share with
you the good news: We had surpassed our
goal by 2%! We want to give special thanks
to MKES staff and teachers, building
services staff and to all the parent volunteers
who helped make the book fair run very
smoothly. Most importantly, a big “thank
you!” to Natesia Johnson-Samuel, Book Fair
Co-Chair, for her help, dedication and
unconditional support. MKES Scholastic
Book Fair is still open ONLINE till Friday
October 23rd and we hope to continue raising
the profits!

PTA FUN RUN
Kindergarten: $1037
1st Grade: $1396
2nd Grade: $607
"The Fun Run Fundraiser is not yet over. You ran the run already, but now it's
time to bring in the money from the fundraising. Can every grade raise more
than $2000? The grade that raises the most will get a prize. Right now 4th
grade at Pine Crest is ahead, and 1st grade at Montgomery Knolls is close
behind. You have until Friday, October 30." Thank you!
